Faith and Service on Bute Street.
Founded in 1800, First Baptist is Norfolk’s oldest Baptist congregation. In 1958, the church opened its doors to tutor the Norfolk Seventeen during the city’s school desegregation struggle.
Today, Senior Pastor Rev. Jerry L. Holmes leads First Baptist in worship and service to the Norfolk community.
